The Gully Walk – a purpose-built historical river walkway – offers nomads the perfect opportunity to enjoy a self-paced walk through Nindigully’s riverside bushland. The walk was developed by the Balonne Shire Council to ensure that the heritage, culture and environment of Nindigully was preserved while creating an area for visitors to enjoy the beautiful bush surrounds.
The 500m cement path meanders between stately gums on the banks of the Moonie River. Through interpretive signs, nomads can see what life used to be like in the bush in the pioneering days and get to know some of the characters who shaped the area. When there is water in the river, this lively bird habitat is teeming with life and a stroll along the path is a perfect way to reconnect with nature. Keen anglers will also find it the perfect place to drop a line.
